SPORT:
Oh yes, there is a lot of that to contend with in Queenstown below a list but not exhaustive
- Skiing (June until mid-October): 4 ski fields to choose from plus amazing Heli skiing into back bowls and glaciers
- Golfing: Did we not mention Golf. World class golf courses abound with incredible backdrops to accompany your golf journey. The Hills, Millbrook, Jacks Point, Kelvin Heights, Gibbston Valley, Arrowtown, Wanaka with additional International Courses being established as I type.

- Mountain Biking / E Biking: No shortage of international level mountain bike trails and runs for the experienced and novice. Massive network of Queenstown trails for E Biking and road bikes. The Rail Trail, Alps To Ocean for those seeking longer in the saddle. Join a Queenstown Peloton during your stay for the road fanatics.
- Fishing: OH the fishing, sorry to repeat but we offer World Class Fishing spots both lake and river. Fly fishing within easy reach of any town. A short drive or helicopter flight away to total remoteness – just you and the trout.
- Extreme Adventure: Bungy, Rafting, Canyoning Explorer, Rock Climbing, Highland Park Race Track, Oxbow Adventure, Extreme off Road, Shotover Jets, Zip trek Ecotours, Base Camp Adventures, Riverboarding, Alphine Luxury Tours, Heli Tours
- Vineyards: We consider this a sport in New Zealand so I feel obliged to include in the outdoor activity section. Do not want to brag but damn fine wines await you. A host of excellent Vineyards and eateries offering delicious dry climate wines. Specialising in Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Aromatics.
Arrowtown Region: Amisfield, Chard Farm, Peregrine, Gibbston Valley, Kinross,
Bannockburn Region: Mount Difficulty, Felton Road, Desert Heart, Carrick Winery, The Cloudy Bay Shed, Misha’s Vineyard, Wooing Tree, Terra Sancta,
Many of the above Wineries provide fabulous eateries on-site, alongside their well stocked Cellar Doors brimming with local produce. Whilst in Bannockburn a must is the Sleuthing Walk followed by lunch at the Bannockburn Pub – you will not be disappointed.
SHOPPING:
Shopping for pure New Zealand Wool, products and wonderful local foods can be found in both Queenstown and Arrowtown region as well as over the hill to Wanaka. All the above plus more can be found on the Queenstown tourism site.

Soaking up the beautiful scenery, taking in a movie at Dorothy Browns Arrowtown, checking out the amazing local artists, indulging in speciality food stores such as Royalburn Arrowtown, visiting weekend markets for local fresh produce.
