Accommodation
The luxury ocean side property of your dreams, the exceptional Whale Beach Hideaway is Sydney’s eastern-most home. This spacious cliff side property sleeps up to eight guests and is spread out across four levels, with the captivating ocean views over Dolphin Bay and Whale Beach undoubtedly the star of the show.
Open plan living and dining areas complement the expansive views, while a large rumpus room at the rear of the house means the kids can make noise while you relax in the quiet sitting room with the ocean that stretches to the horizon for company. Whale Beach Hideaway has wooden floors and luxury neutral furnishings throughout that maximise the light and space, while the bedrooms face out onto the bay so that you can enjoy the surrounds from dusk ’til dawn.
There is no passing traffic or street noise in this private, sheltered and quiet location, including a lagoon-style swimming pool which is shaded by trees. Dry off by kicking back in the sun chairs and spotting the whales and dolphins that are your closest neighbours in the ocean below.
What the owners love: The owners say that it’s impossible to tire of those views, which can be seen to the north, east and west from almost every room in the house. The best whale watching spots are in the main bedroom, or from the luxury bathtub with its floor-to-ceiling glass wall. Louvred windows on both sides of the house allow the cooling sea breeze and the sound of the ocean waves to enter the home. If that’s not relaxing enough, top it all off by enjoying a glass of wine and a good book overlooking the ocean from the hanging chair on the front terrace.
What we love: This is the ideal location for enjoying alfresco dinners long into the night. Pick up some fresh local produce at the Palm Beach Markets and create an outdoor feast, cooling off with dips in the pool in complete privacy. If you want to relax completely, our concierge service can arrange a leading chef to come to cook for you inside the home.
What families love: Only one hour north of Sydney, Palm Beach is the city’s most exclusive holiday destination. Venture into the city for a day of sightseeing, or go for a drive further north along the vast stretch of coastline. If you’re after an active adventure, take a hike out to Barrenjoey Lighthouse, set out to spot native wildlife in Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, or hire paddle boards for a day out on the water.
Jonah’s Restaurant; a fine dining restaurant located on Bynya Road, Whale beach. Offering amazing food and spectacular views it is definitely worth a visit.
