Accommodation
This three-bedroom penthouse apartment is larger-than-life. From the absolutely incredible wraparound views of Sydney Harbour, the city and Eastern Suburbs to the white velvet couches in the spacious living area, it is not afraid to make a statement.
Located in the heart of Sydney’s trendy Paddington, Paddington Penthouse screams contemporary luxury. Slate floors and marble highlights are present throughout, and everything is top of the line.
The main living area consists of a stone kitchen with breakfast bar, a modernist dining table and a generous lounge area. The only problem here is that it can be hard to concentrate on the huge flatscreen TV (let alone the fireplace) when the twinkling lights of Sydney city are right behind.
We’ve missed the best bit, though. That has to be the oversized entertainer’s terrace accessible through full-length sliding doors. This is the place to fire up the barbecue, hang out, entertain and kick back. The views are almost too good to believe.
The rooms aren’t anything to sneeze at either, with one king master and two queens and two en-suites, plus an additional bathroom and laundry. The best bit is that there’s a view wherever you look, so you can always wake up to the sunrise over Sydney Harbour. Throw in two secure parking spaces and you’ve got the perfect place to stay.
What the owner loves
This is a property that can do it all. Obviously the terrace, high-end kitchen, views and family-size barbecue suggest entertaining, and Paddington Penthouse excels at that. But it’s also incredibly comfortable, and on a chilly night it can be just as tempting to curl up by the gas fire with a book or a movie on the TV.
What we love
We see a lot of luxury homes with very nice views, but Paddington Penthouse is in a class all of its own. It’s north facing, so it catches the sun all day, and its position high atop Paddington gives it views in three directions, including a wonderful aspect on the Sydney skyline. Honestly, you don’t really know what to look at when you’re up here.
What the luxe traveller loves
Paddington is the best place to stay in Sydney. It’s unrivalled. Not only is it home to Sydney’s best designer shopping and many of its finest restaurants, it’s close to everything. Bondi Beach is 10 minutes away, but so is the Sydney CBD. Centennial Park is the ideal place for a morning run or an afternoon stroll, and the Victorian streetscapes are as pretty as a postcard.
